Turnpike's e-Traveler service cooks up aid to homeless shelters this Thanksgiving
The Massachusetts Turnpike Authority will give away a turkey and other food items to 26 Massachusetts homeless shelters each day between now and Thanksgiving Day in a special promotion for the Pike's e-Traveler service. The Turnpike will also give away a turkey and food items daily from Nov. 1 to Thanksgiving to a patron whose name has been randomly drawn from those who register for e-Traveler. The e-Traveler Service provides traffic updates to subscribers via email, allowing them to easily get the latest information on road closures, detours, alternate routes and construction updates on the Turnpike. Gerard Farms on Water Street in Framingham has generously agreed to supply the turkeys to assist the Turnpike Authority in this promotion. Other businesses contributing food items to both the homeless shelters and to individual e-Traveler winners are Coca Cola Enterprises of Needham, Cape Cod Potato Chips of Hyannis and Table Talk Pies of Worcester.
